When Clara Delany walks into the Aces High Motorcycle Club’s hangout, she’s hit rock bottom. She’s hiding her car from the repo man, she has less than two dollars in her bank account and the only employment she can get is delivering messages for a criminal.

All because of a man. Therefore, she’s sworn off them.

And then she meets West “Buck” Hardy, president of the Aces High MC.

Buck also meets her, and the minute he does, he makes it clear (to everyone but Clara) that they’re starting something. Since Clara doesn’t get that message, she decides to leave Buck and sort out her life in order to come back to him clean.

She’s not gone but hours before life hits Clara with another blow. Which means Buck and his boys have to ride in and save the day. After that, Buck makes no bones about where they stand.

But does he?

Welcome to the first novel in the Wild West MC series which will tell the stories of the brothers of the Aces High MC, the Resurrection MC and the Chaos MC…and the women who love them.

Sigh...

I really really wanted to like this book, however, after reading motorcycle man a million times because Tack is my favorite, the similarities make it hard to really enjoy it. I liked the story and the plot, but it was way too much like Tack and Taras story so it made me like it less. I want to give it five starts because motorcycle man was the bomb and this is like a re write of it, however, I can’t do it because it feels like I’m lying.

Good

Love Clara and Buck! There are some very iffy things that happen in this book but they all do work themselves out in the end. What I take out most from this book is never assume and never take advice you are not comfortable with. I really recommend this book. It’s funny, sexy and god have some tissues available!

just a common romance book

If you are new to Kristen Ashley read the Burg series or the Rock Chicks or Choas MC series - loved them - full of interesting/different secondary characters and the danger is real - lots of redemption plots. This one not so much. Not bad just not great. I’m sorry it wasn’t more like Motorcycle Man.

Oh yeah

This is a KA classic story. Great chemistry between main characters, interesting side characters and a story line that leads you down the road, demanding you finish it to the HEA ASAP. Certainly the fans of the Chaos series will see some similar parallels here, but it is a nostalgic tug and not a repeated story line. KA writes the character Clara with depth, including a painful history and her own flaws which draws the reader to root for her as she navigates her challenges. A fun read that is the usual error free well edited book. Purchase, read and enjoy.

This might be my new favorite MC!

This might be my new favorite MC! After a sad childhood and a difficult marriage, Clara is working hard to make ends meet in the aftermath of what her ex-husband did, and her best friend’s husband has manipulated her into working for him and putting her in dangerous situations. This dangerous situation involves Buck, the president of a local MC, where she is to give him a message from her new boss. But when Buck meets her, he decides to clue her in and take her under his wing, and after one night he knows she’s it for him, but it also starts the ripple effect of life as she knew it unravelling. When her best friend goes missing and she is beat up by said best friend’s husband, Buck saves Clara yet again and in little words claims her as his. With Clara being clueless about the MC life, she learns about the expectations and realities of the life while also working at the MC business and feels that life is getting back on track. But like any MC storyline, there are highs and lows with this couple and drama to the max, but that’s what makes these books what they are! Not only is there MC drama, but also drama coming from Clara’s life in the form of her best friend’s husband and the job he gave her. I was surprised at how much I really felt the emotions from Clara as well as Buck coming off the pages and I truly couldn’t get enough of this book – I read it in one sitting! I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment in this series, especially how things end in this book with somewhat of a cliffhanger! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Disappointed

Don’t get me wrong. It was a good book but it is too much like Motorcycle Man! Loved all her other books but this was just a rewrite. Even the character names were similar (Tack and Cherry, Buck and Clary), the kids (boy & girl same ages and personalities), trouble with the best friend. I could go on and on. I hope she can change up the other books in the series or it’s gonna be a bust for me.

Kristen Ashley never disappoints me. Her MC books always give me all the feels and emotions. Buck and Clara’s story reminds me a lot of one of my favorite KA books Motorcycle Man. I see the possibility for multiple stories after this one.

Disappointing

I love Kristen Ashley’s books! I have read every single one of them and most of them more than once, maybe that’s why I had to check the cover to make sure I wasn’t reading Motorcycle Man. Buck and Clara could have had their own wonderful love story, why did they have to steal Tack & Tyra’s?

Sudokrzy

Reboot?

I feel like I just read a reboot of Motorcycle Man. There were a lot of similarities. Unfortunately, and abnormally with a KA book, I wasn’t able to immerse myself into this world with these characters for a good portion of the book. I kept waiting for the plot to turn away from the Motorcycle Man plot or to tie it to that Denver world. (More so than she very briefly did) Yes, there were differences. But the similarities seemed key. That being said, it was still a KA book, which means definitely worth your time and $. The story was sweet and hot. Buck and Clara were equally sweet and hot. The “secondary” characters as always added the depth to this story that other books seem to miss. Overall, even if it seemed like a reboot it was a reboot worth reading!
